Here comes the parade! Welcome to entry #27: the Moritz

It was a crisp fall morning in 2018 when the Blackrock Homes design team learned that they received an entry in the spring 2019 Parade of Homes. It took less than a few minutes to select the Moritz as our leading floor plan to feature in the event; it displays the Open Space Living concept beautifully. The bigger question was choosing a centrally-located homesite that would be most conducive for access with the high volume of traffic that is normal with the Parade. As Boise Valley’s largest home event, the Parade of Homes generally features 40 homes across Ada County, built by the area’s esteemed builders who have membership with local building contractor’s association.

The design team felt it was important to showcase Blackrock’s standard specifications that can be found in every model home built in The Village, and not deviate by including multiple upgrades that can make the process confusing. By keeping the parade home’s finishes consistent, buyers can easily see what is included for the price. While there is a variety of cabinet finishes and stone surfaces within The Village standard interior selections, the parade Moritz model displays white painted kitchen cabinets and 3cm Ashen White granite stone surfaces, along with abundant hardwood flooring.

Next, Blackrock asked long-time business associate, Jenni Carrier, to get her perspective on how to best highlight the large open area and sun room of the floor plan. As designer/owner of Jac’s Home Staging, Jenni’s staging background and expertise in parade home decorating was key in the overall theme of the Moritz. When asked about the decor direction, Jenni indicated that she aimed for summery feel with accents of “Living Coral,” the 2019 Pantone Color of the Year. (It is always interesting to learn where designers find their inspiration.) The furniture, wall art and home accents all came together at a surprisingly relaxed and comfortable pace on our staging day. That was slightly atypical for the Parade of Homes, yet very much in alignment with the overall vibe of The Village at Movado.

We hope you stop by and tour our beautiful parade home:
